Jean Sayre-Adams RN MA RPTT

Jean has a background as a nurse in the USA and developed an interest in the healing arts, specifically Therapeutic Touch.  She played a lead role in introducing this practice to the UK. She also undertook deep teaching in spiritual and interfaith work through the Nine Gates programme in San Francisco and has trained as a counsellor and spiritual director.  Whilst in San Francisco she became consultant/practitioner at the Alternative Therapies Unit at the University of California, the first such university based unit in the USA, and played a leading role in healing work amidst the unfolding AIDS crisis in the early 1980’s.  She is also an expert in the theory and practice of the Enneagram for spiritual development, which greatly enriches the work offered on retreats.  She has been along with Stephen the guiding light of the Foundation since its creation and they have worked closely to nurture its development and expansion down the years.   She has worked with many renowned teachers of healing and spirituality and integrates these teachings into her work.  She has co-authored two books with Stephen, “Therapeutic Touch” and “Sacred Space: right relationship and spirituality in health care.”  She is one of the resident spiritual directors of the Foundation.
